Potato Lollipops - Snack Recipe

Aloo Lollipops


Potato lollipops is a quick and tasty finger food recipe for kids..and of course everyone would love this snack. These are made of boiled potato, grated carrot and little spices added for taste. Potato lollipops would be a favorite evening snack for kids. These potato lollipops are crispy outside and soft inside..and when tasted with tomato ketch up, these would be so much yummy and finger licking snack for kids.
Ingredients
1. Potatoes - 3 (medium size)
2. Carrot - 1
3. Onions - 1
4. Green chilly - 1
5. Salt - 1/2 tbsp
6. Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
7. Turmeric powder - a pinch
8. Chaat masala - 1 tbsp
9.Corn flour - 1-2 tbsp
10. Oil - for deep fry
Cooking Procedure
  1. Boil and mash potatoes, grate carrot, chop onions and green chilly into fine pieces. 
    Main ingredients.. 
  2. Take all the ingredients into a bowl ie..boiled and mashed potatoes, onions and green chilly pieces, grated carrot, a pinch of turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, chaat masala and corn flour. 
  3. Mix all the ingredients into a thick batter or dough. 
  4. Make small or medium sized round balls using the prepared dough and insert toothpicks (toothpicks can be inserted finally after deep frying the balls), add corn flour a little more if needed so that the balls should be easily made without sticking to hands. 
  5. Heat oil in a kadai for deep fry and then, slowly leave the round balls one after one in the heated oil. (its better to remove the toothpicks and deep fry) 
  6. Fry the balls till they turn golden brown. Take out those fried balls into a bowl. 
  7. Insert toothpicks which make the physical appearance of fried balls into lollipops..which may be very attractive to kids..!! Finally the crispy as well as soft Potato Lollipops are now ready to serve..they go more yummy with tomato ketchup. 
Tip
  1. Let the cornflour to be added be the last ingredient to the dough..add little amounts of corn flour as required. But corn flour is the main ingredient to this recipe as it binds the balls while frying.
