This tasty farhi Puris are so simple to make and always delicious to eat. Perfact for tea-time..Gujarati call it Tikhi puri or farhi puri. Ingredients
- 31/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup wheat or chapati flour
- 1/2 cup mix of Ghee and oil(1/2:1/2 ratio)
- 1 tsp. Caraway seeds(Shah Jeera)
- 1/2 tsp. Turmeric powder
- 11/2 tsp salt or according to your test
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- warm water as needed
Instructions
Mix all dry ingredients first in a big bowl. Then add mix of ghee and oil and mix everything well. Now nead the dough with water as needed. We need this dough little bit harder than chapati flour. So make sure you add water slowly. When the dough is neaded properly, smooth out the dough with little bit of oil.Cover the dough and keep it aside for about 10-15min.
After 10-15min, make little bolls, may the size of cherry and roll all puris. Meanwhile heat oil in a fry pan. When oil is done test oil tempreture by adding small piece of puri. If oil is hot fry rest of the puris. Your crispy crunchy puri is done. Serve with Indian tea or eat them itself. The test of Caraway seeds make big differnce to this recipe.
